Iris laev. 'Rose Queen'
Iris laevigata 'Rose Queen', called Japanese water iris in Dutch, is an upright, clump-forming and rhizomatous, deciduous, perennial plant. The leaves are long and narrow, gray-green to dark green and have no midrib. This iris blooms in July and August with small, lilac-pink, orris-like, fragrant flowers. Iris laevigata 'rose queen' likes a position in full sun or light shade and a neutral to acidic, humus-rich, moist soil, it can also be planted with its feet in water. This iris is hardy and tolerates sea breeze and air pollution quite well. Occasionally this iris can be attacked by snails and saw wasps.
