Iris laev. 'Snowdrift'

Iris laevigata 'Snowdrift', in Dutch called white Japanese iris, is an upright, clump-forming and rhizomatous, deciduous, perennial plant. The leaves are long and narrow, medium green in color and have no midrib. This iris blooms from June to August with fragrant, white, orris-like flowers with pendulous petals and a light lilac mark near the center of the flower. Iris laevigata'snowdrift 'likes a position in full sun or light shade and a neutral to acidic, humus-rich, moist soil, it can also be planted with its feet in water. This iris is hardy and tolerates sea breeze and air pollution quite well. Occasionally this iris can be attacked by snails and saw wasps.
