Physocarpus opiluf. 'Lady In Red'
Physocarpus opulifolius "lady in red," is a medium-sized deciduous bladderwort. It is a multi-stemmed shrub with an upright and spreading habit, but more compact and refined in shape than the species. The leaves are three-lobed, in spring and summer, purple, purple, in autumn they turn purple-red with a hint of bronze. This spirea blooms from May to July with white to pink-white fragrant flowers in umbels that attract bees and butterflies. Physocarpus "lady in red" likes a position in full sun or partial shade, well-drained, humus-rich soil with a preference for slightly acidic soil. The plant is hardy, sea wind tolerant, and air pollution resistant.
