Pieris hybr. 'Flaming Silver'
Pieris "Flaming Silver" is called rock heath in Dutch. It is an evergreen, small to medium-sized shrub with a bushy, upright form. The decorative leaves are glossy and elongated. In the spring they open bright red and afterwards they turn green with a silver-white edge. In April and May, small, creamy white, fragrant, bell-like flowers in clusters adorn this Pieris "Flaming Silver". This plant is fairly hardy, likes a position in full sun or partial shade and prefers a well-drained, moist, acidic soil. It requires little pruning, is low maintenance, attracts butterflies and bees and is also fairly tolerant of sea wind and air pollution.
