Thymus praecox 'Minor' flowers lilac pink, becomes 3cm high.

Thyme is not only a widely used herb in cooking, but some varieties also lend themselves as good ground cover (creeping thyme) for sandy, calcareous soil.

For thyme it is very important that the soil does not get wet in the winter and the plants therefore thrive best in a drained or well-drained soil.

Always plant thyme in a sunny, warm spot and give the plants a light winter cover.
