Pieris hybr. 'Forest Flame'

Pieris "Forest Flame" is called rock heath in Dutch. It is an evergreen, large to medium-sized shrub with a bushy, strongly upright form. The glossy, elongated leaves that first open bright red in spring and turn green afterwards are very decorative. In April and May, small, creamy white, fragrant, bell-like flowers in clusters adorn this Pieris "Forest Flame". This plant is fairly hardy, likes a position in full sun or partial shade and prefers a well-drained, moist, acidic soil. It requires little pruning, is low maintenance, attracts butterflies and bees and is also fairly tolerant of sea wind and air pollution.
