Pleioblastus pygmaeus "Distichus" is an evergreen dwarf bamboo with a low-growing ground cover habit. The leaves are dark green fan-like and are on medium green culms. This bamboo likes a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade and a moist, but well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Pleioblastus pygmaeus "Distichus" is hardy, but prefers a sheltered place. Albizia julibrissin is a broad tree with spreading, almost horizontally growing branches. The bark is dark gray and the young branches are olive green, but later turn dark gray. The large leaf can grow up to 40 cm in length. It is doubly pinnate and made up of 4 to 11 yokes each with 15 to 28 pairs of small, sickle-shaped leaflets with a finely rimmed margin. The whole looks like a fern leaf and is very decorative. In the evening the leaves fold up.
