Acer palm. 'Sangokaku'

Acer palmatum 'Sangokaku', small Japanese maple with red-green leaves at first that turn crimson red later in the fall. It is a small, slow-growing shrub with narrow lanceolate leaves and a very broad shape. Densely branched crown and drooping branches. The Acer palmatum 'Sangokaku' does not like full sun but requires light shade or partial shade; preferably in a moist, slightly acidic soil, and somewhat sheltered from strong winds. Not a coastal plant, but air pollution tolerant.
