Acer shir. 'Aureum'

Acer shirasawanum 'Aureum', sometimes also called acer japonicum 'aureum' . Is a particularly slow-growing yellow maple with beautiful yellow-green leaves that turn crimson red later in the fall. It is a small, slow-growing shrub with narrow lanceolate leaves and a very broad shape, densely branched crown and drooping branches. Acer shirasawanum 'Aureum', does not like full sun but requires light shade or partial shade. Preferably in a moist, slightly acidic soil and somewhat sheltered from strong winds. Not a coastal plant, but air pollution tolerant.
