Bouteloua gracilis, syn. Chondrosum gracile is called mosquito grass in Dutch and is a small, deciduous grass with narrow blue-green, rough to the touch and overhanging leaves that turn a beautiful purplish brown in autumn. Mosquito grass flowers from June to August with striking purple-red flower spikes. This grass likes a position in full sun and a well-permeable soil that is not too wet. The plant is very drought tolerant, tolerates sea wind and air pollution, but is unfortunately only moderately hardy.

Cotoneaster radicans 'Eichholz'
Cotoneaster radicans "Eichholz" is a relatively small evergreen dwarf medlar, in adulthood it reaches a maximum height of 50 cm but can reach a width of 2 m. Briza media
Briza media is called vibrating grass or beaver in Dutch because it vibrates so beautifully in the slightest wind. It is a semi-evergreen ornamental grass with a compact, clump-forming habit and blue-green, sword-shaped leaves with a purple tinge. Calamagrostis acutiflora "Karl Foerster", also called plume truss cane in Dutch, is a very popular, deciduous compact upright ornamental grass with narrow and stiff gray-green pointed leaves that hang slightly.
