The leaves are variegated, dark green with a white edge and a pink tinge in winter. the plant flowers in July and August with inconspicuous white to green-white flowers. Spherical white fruit pods with an orange seed skirt appear in autumn. euonymus fortunei 'emerald & gold' is hardy, does well in any soil type and grows in full sun as well as partial shade or even shade.
