Euonymus fort. 'Dart's Blanket'

Euonymus fortunei 'Dart's Blanket' this Dutch selection is a low growing, evergreen cardinal with a broad, bushy, creeping shape. The leaves are oval to elliptical, shiny, leathery and dark green colored during spring and summer, in autumn they first turn bronze and then evolve to purplish red. The plant blooms in June and July with unobtrusive small, star-shaped, green-white flowers. In autumn, bulbous pink fruit pods with orange seeds appear. Euonymus fortunei 'Dart's Blanket' is hardy, does well in any soil type and grows in full sun as well as partial shade or even shade. It can withstand pruning, is air pollution tolerant and also resistant to sea wind and can be used as a coastal plant.
