Miscanthus sinensis "Strictus" blooms from August to October, with reddish-brown flower panicles at first, turning creamy-white to silvery-white later in autumn when the seed matures. This beautiful reed likes a sunny position and a well-drained, slightly moist, moderately fertile soil. Miscanthus sinensis "Strictus" is hardy and once established, also drought tolerant. It tolerates air pollution and sea wind and is disease and pest free.
