Gillenia trifoliata
Gillenia trifoliata is a graceful plant with small but numerous white star-like flowers in early summer with a pink calyx on fine red stems.
Has a loose and bushy habit and decorates shady areas, also tolerates tree roots.
The leaves are triangular, matt dark green with a beautiful orange / red color in autumn.
Takes some time to form a nice full clump, but after 4-5 years you will have a plant of +/- H.100x W.40-70cm.
Desires a lime-poor, humus-rich, well-permeable soil, once the plant is well established it can also withstand drought.
Also avoid the blazing midday sun.
After the winter, the plant can be pruned to 4cm from the ground.
