Phyllostachys aureosulcata "Aureocaulis" is called giant bamboo in Dutch. It is a large, evergreen bamboo with a vigorous, columnar habit. The leaves are lanceolate and medium green in color. They grow on sturdy, upright, golden yellow culms that sometimes show some green stripes close to the base. This bamboo prefers a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade and a moisture-retaining, but well-permeable, humus-rich soil.
