Petroselinum crispum
Petroselinum crispum, also called garden parsley or curly parsley, is an evergreen, biennial plant, with a compact upright shape and pinnate, triangular, frizzy, dark green, aromatic foliage. Garden parsley flowers in the second year from June to July, with small, yellow-green umbels. Petroselinum crispum likes a neutral to calcareous, moist, well-drained, fertile soil and a position in partial shade. The plant is fairly hardy, tolerant of sea wind and air pollution and attracts bees and butterflies. The leaves are rich in vitamins and minerals and have a refined aroma that enhances the taste of food preparations.
