Skimmia jap. 'Reevesiana'
Skimmia japonica reevesiana is a small, evergreen, monoecious shrub with a compact, globular habit and glossy, leathery, grey-green, lanceolate leaves. Already in October, the still closed flower clusters embellish this skimmia to finally bloom in April and May with fragrant creamy white flowers. Skimmia japonica reevesiana likes a position in partial shade or shade and is not fussy about the type of soil, as long as it is well-drained and rich in humus. The plant is reasonably to hardy, tolerant of sea wind and air pollution, has few problems with diseases or pests and requires little pruning.
