Sorbaria sorbifolia 'Sem'
Sorbaria sorbifolia "sem", also called rowan spirea, is a smaller, deciduous shrub with a very upright form and spreading habitus. The leaves are lanceolate, pointed, odd-pinnate and dark green in summer, bronze in spring and orange-red in autumn. From June to August, sorbaria sorbifolia blooms profusely with fragrant, white, astilbe-like flowers in erect panicles. The ideal position is in full sun or partial shade and in a well-drained, moist, neutral to calcareous soil. This sorbaria is hardy, attracts butterflies, bees and insects, air pollution tolerant, as well as reasonably resistant to sea wind.
