Nymphaea 'Pygmaea Helvola'

Nymphaea "Pygmaea Helvola" is a beautiful, yellow dwarf water lily, which was introduced in 1879 and is suitable for medium to small ponds. The small, slightly ruffled leaves appear olive green at first and then, during the season, turn a decorative darker green with dark purple spots. This mini water lily blooms from June to September, with small, slightly fragrant (first cup-shaped, later star-shaped), soft yellow flowers with a golden yellow heart and the diameter of the flower is barely 3 to 5 cm. As soon as the flower has finished blooming, the seeds sink to the bottom. Nymphaea "Pygmaea Helvola" likes a position in full sun, a water depth of 0.20 to 0.40 meters and a nutrient-rich soil.
