Artemisia abrotanum
Artemisia abrotanum, called lemon herb in Dutch, is a semi-evergreen perennial or semi-shrub with a bushy habit. The plant originated in southern europe, but is now established in large parts of the temperate climate zone of europe. The leaves are silver-gray-green, finely feathered and have a lemon scent, they are used in herbal tea or herbal vinegar, among other things. In very hot summers, lemon grass blooms with small, inconspicuous green-yellow flowers, grouped in dense flower panicles. Artemisia abrotanum prefers a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade and a well-drained, humus-rich soil. Lemon grass is hardy, drought tolerant, tolerates sea wind and air pollution and is disease resistant.

Cotoneaster horizontalis is a small deciduous dwarf medlar with wide horizontally spreading branches. This cotoneaster has dark green leaves that turn orange-red in autumn. From May to June it blooms with pink white flowers, followed in autumn by many red berries. This dwarf medlar is hardy, can be planted in almost any type of soil, often used as ground cover, in planting, on slopes and roadsides. Artemisia dracunculus, in Dutch called French tarragon, is a deciduous, herbaceous perennial in our climate with a bushy shape. The decorative, aromatic leaves are linear, smooth-edged and dark green in color. French tarragon blooms in July and August with inconspicuous greenish-yellow, sterile flowers in branched clusters. Acca sellowiana
Acca Sellowiana, syn. Feijoa sellowiana, called pineapple guava in Dutch, is a medium-sized evergreen shrub from South America, with a bushy habit and decorative, green elliptical leaves with a silver-grey underside. This Brazilian guava flowers from June to October with fragrant, pink-white flowers with bright red stamens, followed after fertilization by edible green-red fruits with a sweet and sour pineapple flavour. Acca sellowiana likes a sheltered position in full sun and a neutral to calcareous well-drained soil that is not too dry, especially during the fruit season. In our climate, this plant is only moderately hardy, when the mercury dips below 10°c, some winter protection is still recommended.
