Abelia grandiflora
Abelia grandiflora medium-sized semi-evergreen to evergreen shrub, wide-growing shrub with light pink to white flowers, glossy green leaves and beautiful orange, red to bronze-purple foliage discoloration in autumn. Elodea densa
Elodea densa, called waterweed in Dutch, originates from South America. This submerged, evergreen aquatic plant with stems of 80cm and more has an enormous water purifying capacity and invasive vigor. It quickly forms offshoots and can form entire mats in a short time. The leaves are elongated, lanceolate, dark green, the lower ones in whorls of three, the upper one in whorls of 4 to 8 leaves. Waterweed likes a place with sufficient sunlight. A water depth of 50 to 80 cm is ideal, but with sufficient light Elodea densa can grow in water up to 4 m deep. Asplenium scolopendrium
Asplenium scolopendrium, syn. Phyllitis scolopendrium, in Dutch called tongue fern, is a graceful evergreen fern with a pol-shaped habit. The long dark green leaves are glossy, lanceolate, leathery, crested, unsprung and evergreen. The tongue fern likes a position in partial shade to shade and a well-permeable humus-rich and calcareous, normal to moist soil. Hydrocotyle novae-zelandiae
Hydrocotyle 'novae zelandiae', in Dutch, called pennywort, is a swamp plant with a creeping rhizome that grows (too) abundantly both in and out of the water. As a land form it is often used as a ground cover, in the water it forms mat, the shield-shaped leaves then float on the water surface. The inflorescence during the summer is rather inconspicuous with small greenish flowers on thin stems. Pennywort likes a position in partial shade or sun and does well in any moist to normally dry soil type.
