Acaena micr. 'Kupferteppich'
Acaena microphylla "Kupferteppich", also called spikelnootje or copper carpet in Dutch, is an evergreen perennial with a ground covering, creeping shape. This plant has small elongated compound leaves, reddish brown in color and with a serrated leaf margin. The white inflorescence is inconspicuous, but the red-brown fruits that follow it are particularly decorative. Acaena prefers a position in full sun or partial shade and prefers a calcareous to neutral, well-drained soil type. This plant is hardy, requires little maintenance, is sea wind tolerant and is usually used as a ground cover or as a plant for the rock garden.

Celastrus orbiculatus
Celastrus orbiculatus, called tree strangler in Dutch, is a tall, right-winding climbing vine with light green, ovate, serrated and often intertwined leaves. This lovely tree strangler flowers in April and May with yellow-green to cream-coloured, five-lobed flowers. In the case of female plants, if a male pollinator is nearby, an invasion of attractive vermilion red fruits follows in late summer. Celastrus orbiculatus likes a position in partial shade or full sun and a well-drained, slightly moist soil, it is hardy, fairly drought tolerant, attracts bees and butterflies and also tolerates sea wind and air pollution well. Acanthus mollis
Acanthus mollis is often called soft acanthus or spiny hogweed in Dutch. It is a semi-evergreen perennial with an upright shape and a clump-forming habit. Spiny Bear Claw has glossy deeply lobed, dark green feathery leaves with soft spines. From June to the end of August it blooms with upright clusters of white flowers with purple bracts.
