Primula vialii
Primula vialii, called orchid primula or gnome's cap in English, is a deciduous perennial plant of Chinese origin with a rosette-forming habit and elongated lanceolate mid-green leaves. This primrose blooms from June to August with particularly attractive violet-colored flowers that emerge from beautifully contrasting red flower buds on an upright flower stem, beautiful bicolor effect. Primula vialii likes a position in partial shade and does well in any moist but well-drained soil that does not contain too much lime. Primula vialii attracts bees and butterflies and is moderately air pollution tolerant.
