Primula vulgaris

Primula vulgaris, in Dutch called less stemless primrose, is an indigenous semi-evergreen perennial with a rosette-forming habit and obovate, wrinkled, light green leaves. This primrose blooms from March to May with fragrant light yellow to buttery yellow flowers that emerge from the base of the plant, there are also many cultivars in all kinds of colors. Primula vulgaris prefers a position in partial shade or full sun and does well in any moist but well-drained soil. The stemless primrose attracts bees and butterflies and is moderately air pollution tolerant. The flour is suitable for human consumption, has a slightly sugary taste and is mainly used in salads.
