Hosta 'Royal Standard'

Hosta 'royal standard' was the first patented hosta hybrid in 1965, it has a very wide-spreading, clump-forming habit and attractive, oval, strongly veined and shiny medium green leaves. It blooms in July and August with strongly scented white tubular flowers on long upright flower stems. hosta 'royal standard' prefers a position in partial shade or shade. It prefers fertile, well-drained and moist soil. This hosta is very hardy, tolerant of sea wind, tolerates air pollution reasonably well and is generally disease free. Often used in partial shade borders, shade borders and Japanese gardens.
