Lathyrus lat. 'Red Pearl'
This is the perennial Lathyrus latifolius native to Central and Southern Europe.
Flowers with unfortunately odorless flowers, but on the other hand has many more flowers than the scented varieties, up to 10 flowers per stem.
Lathyrus latifolius 'Red Pearl' blooms with red-purple flowers. The flowers are also larger than the annual.
They die to the ground in winter and then bloom abundantly again from June to September on self-adhering stems, sometimes over 2 m long.
After flowering, long, blue pods containing quite large seeds appear.
Sow indoors from March / April, on site from April to June.
Cut out the faded flowers as well as the pods, this promotes and extends the flowering.
