Cotinus cogg. 'Royal Purple'
Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple' is usually grown as a deciduous shrub and can grow up to 3 to 5 m high and wide when mature. Striking are the oval-shaped leaves that appear blue-green in spring and turn golden yellow in autumn. The wig tree blooms profusely with lilac-pink feathered flower plumes and the whole looks a bit like a wig of small flowers... A place in full sun or partial shade and out of the wind is recommended. A neutral to calcareous soil suffices as a soil type. It is a good bee plant and is also air pollution tolerant.
