Cotoneaster lacteus
Cotoneaster lacteus is a medium to large gloss medlar that will remain evergreen or semi-evergreen depending on the winters. This cotoneaster has dark green, leathery oval leaves with a fuzzy underside. From June to July it blooms with creamy white flowers, followed in autumn by many red berries. The gloss medlar is hardy and can be planted in almost any type of soil, it is often used as a hedge plant, in planting, on slopes and roadsides or as a solitary. Tolerates drought, sea wind and air pollution well.
