Cotoneaster atrop. 'Variegatus'
Cotoneaster atropurpureus 'variegatus' syn. C.horizontalis 'variegatus' is a small deciduous dwarf medlar that grows only 50 cm high and 70 to 100 cm wide when mature. This cotoneaster has white variegated leaves that also show pink-red spots in the fall. From May to June it blooms with pink flowers, followed in autumn by many red berries. This dwarf medlar is hardy, can be planted in almost any type of soil, often used as ground cover, in planting, on slopes and roadsides. Tolerates drought, sea wind and air pollution well. Susceptible to fire blight and aphids.

Cotoneaster franchetii
Cotoneaster franchetii, dwarf medlar, large and fast growing shrub native to south west china, usually semi-evergreen in our regions, upright and broad, with gracefully arching branches. The leaves are glossy, first bright green, later dark green, the underside is felt-like, yellowish downy. Likes a position in full sun or partial shade and does well in any soil type. Blooms profusely from June to July with pinkish white flowers, later followed by ovoid orange-red fruits.
