Iris ens. 'Variegata'
Iris ensata 'Variegata' in Dutch called variegated Japanese iris or variegated Japanese iris, is a deciduous perennial with a pol-forming habit. The variegated Japanese iris has narrow, gray-green, sword-shaped leaves with a striking creamy-white midrib, the main bloom takes place in July, the small flowers are deep-pink with a yellow heart. Japanese iris grows excellently in nutrient-rich, lime-poor, humus-rich sandy soil near the waterfront, in the period from May to August they like an almost permanently moist soil, later in the season they like to be drier, growing in pots is therefore a good solution. This plant is hardy, reasonably tolerant to sea breeze and air pollution, good disease resistance and few pests.
