Callicarpa bodinieri 'Profusion', called 'beautiful fruit' in Dutch, is a medium-sized deciduous shrub with an upright growing shape. Densely branched and profusely flowering in the summer months with violet to pink flowers in wide umbels. The young leaves emerge in a bronze-purple color, turning dark green in full summer and golden yellow in autumn. However, the show is undeniably stolen by the sea of violet-purple berries that decorate the callicarpa from October to December. Likes full sun or light shade and does well in well-drained soil, which may be neutral or slightly acidic. Is a good coastal plant and also air pollution tolerant.
