Foeniculum vulg. 'Giant Bronze'

Foeniculum vulgare 'Giant Bronze' is a fast-growing bronze-leaved fennel with a firmly upright and polished habit. The leaves are very attractive, fern-like and consist of very fine deep green to bronze colored leaves. The flowers are inconspicuous, small sulfur yellow umbels appear from June to August. This plant is very aromatic, both flower and leaves have a penetrating anise scent. Fennel prefers a position in full sun in moderately fertile, well-drained moist soil, once established the plant is more drought tolerant. Foeniculum vulgare 'Giant Bronze' is hardy, tolerant to sea wind, disease and vermin resistant and attracts numerous flying insects.
