Aster dum. 'Rosenwichtel'

Aster dumosus 'Rosenvragenel' is often also called Aster novi belgii 'Rosenwezenel', it is a low and compact autumn aster with smooth, lance-shaped, medium green leaves. This autumn flower blooms abundantly from August to October with pink, semi-double daisy-like flowers. It likes a sunny position and fertile, well-drained, slightly moist soil. It is very hardy, attracts many butterflies, bees and insects, is sea wind tolerant and also tolerates air pollution well. Unfortunately, it is also susceptible to disease and can be plagued by mildew, leaf spot or wilt and pests such as aphids, caterpillars, mites and whitefly fall for the charm of this aster.
