Physocarpus opulif. 'Diable d'Or'
Physocarpus opulifolius "diable d'or" is a medium-sized, deciduous Bladderwort. It is a multi-stemmed shrub with an upright and spreading habit, but more compact and refined in shape than the species. The leaves are trilobed, bronzed in spring, tinted orange, toothed and evolve to purple in full summer to fall dark red in autumn. This spirea blooms from May to July with white to pinkish white, fragrant flowers in umbels that attract bees and butterflies. Physocarpus opulif. "diable d"or" likes a position in full sun or partial shade, a well-drained, humus-rich soil with a preference for slightly acidic soil. The plant is hardy, sea wind tolerant, air pollution resistant and has few problems with diseases or vermin.
