Oenothera fruticosa 'Sonnenwende' originates from the temperate regions of eastern North America.

Forms a compact (short-lived) perennial with elongated leaves. Run out red but quickly discolor to dark green.

Blooms with shiny bright yellow, cup-shaped flowers from red buds.

Requires well-drained, normally moist soil but once well established drought tolerant.
