Leucanthemum vulgare 'maikonigin', in Dutch called meadow marguerite, is a deciduous perennial with a bushy upright growth and a pol-forming habit. The leaves are narrow, serrated, oval and dark green. This meadow marguerite flowers from June to September with large, white flowers with a creamy yellow center, later followed by inconspicuous ring-shaped fruits. Leucanthemum vulgare prefers a position in full sun or partial shade. is ph flexible and does well on any permeable soil. The plant is hardy, fairly drought tolerant and tolerates sea wind and air pollution. Leucanthemum x superbum sometimes suffers from mildew, gray mold, white rust and root rot.
