Allium aflatunense "Purple Sensation", syn. Allium hollandicum "purple sensation", in Dutch called ornamental onion, is a deciduous bulbous plant with small and short grassy green leaves that have already turned yellow before flowering. This ornamental onion owes its name to the beautiful violet-purple star-shaped flowers that stand in spherical flower heads on upright stems. Allium "purple sensation" likes a sunny position, a well-drained soil and attracts bees and butterflies. This plant is hardy.
