Ceanothus pallidus 'Marie Simon' This deciduous American lilac or sickle flower is a medium sized ceanothus, the shrub flowers with pink flowers and has small dark green leaves. The flowering period is from July to September, this American lilac flowers on annual wood. It likes a position in full sun or light shade and does well in all soils that are not too nutrient-rich and wet. Growing conditions that are too wet can cause root rot. In severe winters, freezing can occur, protecting young plants. Ceanothus is good sea wind tolerant.
