Lavandula int. 'Dutch'

Lavandula intermedia 'dutch' is a hybrid lavender shrub, it is a cross between l.angustifolia and l.latifolia . It grows somewhat higher than the Angustifolia species and is just as wide as it is high. In July and August it blooms with beautiful, strongly fragrant lavender-blue flowers. The leaves are grey-green to silver-green, oval and aromatic. This lavender variety likes a sunny position in a not too rich, well-drained soil. Pruning is necessary every year to prevent lignification of the plant. Lavandula intermedia 'dutch' is fairly hardy, can withstand sea wind and air pollution and is often used for rock gardens, ground cover, herb garden, fragrance garden, box planting and flower boxes.
