Clematis mont. 'Rubens'

Clematis montana 'Rubens', also called forest vine in Dutch, is a small-flowered deciduous climbing plant with a vigorous upright growth. The leaves are lanceolate and serrate, bronze at first, dark green later in the season. This woodland vine flowers in May and June with small single pleasantly scented light pink to violet pink flowers with green - yellow stamens . Clematis montana 'Rubens' likes a position in partial shade or full sun and requires a neutral to calcareous, well-drained soil. This plant is moderate to good hardy, attracts butterflies and bees and is suitable for wall plantings, trellis or pergola vegetation.
