Hosta 'forunei hyacinthina' is a medium-sized heart lily with a broadly spreading, pol-forming habit, this deciduous perennial has attractive, heart-shaped, strongly veined, gray-green leaves and blooms in July and August with lilac bell-shaped flowers on long upright flower stems. hosta 'fortunei hyacinthina' prefers a position in partial shade, but can also cope with sun provided it is sufficiently moist, as long as it is not full afternoon sun, it prefers fertile, well-drained and moist soil. This hosta is very hardy, tolerant of sea wind, tolerates air pollution reasonably well and is generally disease free. Often used in the shade garden, partial shade border and Japanese gardens.
