Petroselinum crispum, also called garden parsley or curly parsley, is an evergreen, biennial plant, with a compact upright shape and pinnate, triangular, frizzy, dark green, aromatic foliage. Garden parsley flowers in the second year from June to July, with small, yellow-green umbels. Petroselinum crispum likes a neutral to calcareous, moist, well-drained, fertile soil and a position in partial shade. The plant is fairly hardy, tolerant of sea wind and air pollution and attracts bees and butterflies. The leaves are rich in vitamins and minerals and have a refined aroma that enhances the taste of food preparations.

Rhododendron 'Elizabeth' is a small evergreen rodo with a bushy, compact, rounded shape. The leaves are medium in size, elongated oval, dull, dark green in color with a slightly hairy underside. This griersonianum hybrid blooms in May with wide bell-shaped bright red flowers (7.5cm) grouped in racemes with 5 flowers. A second bloom often takes place in autumn. Rhododendron prefers a location in filtered sunlight or partial shade, sheltered from strong winds and with a shaded root zone. It requires an acidic, moist, well-drained soil that should never be allowed to dry out completely, requires little pruning and is hardy, although the flowers are more sensitive to frost.

Garden rhubarb flowers from May to July with creamy white panicles on tall stems. Rheum rhabarbarum prefers a position in partial shade or sun in an acidic to neutral, well fertile, humus-rich and moisture-retaining soil. The plant is hardy, moderately drought tolerant, pest free and good air pollution tolerant. In unfavorable conditions and too wet winters, this rhubarb can suffer from crown rot.
