Astilbe 'Hennie Graafland'
Astilbe simplicifolia "hennie Graafland" is a deciduous perennial plant with a dwarf-like, clump-forming habit. The leaves of this astilbe are fern-like, compound, shiny, and dark green in spring and summer. From June to the beginning of August, this beautiful spirea blooms abundantly with light pink upright flower panicles. This astilbe prefers a position in partial shade to shade and can only cope with full sun if the substrate is sufficiently moist in summer. It does well in any well-drained, not too dry soil, is hardy, attracts bees and butterflies, reasonably tolerant to air pollution but not really sea wind resistant.
