Sesleria caerulea
Sesleria caerulea, in Dutch called bluegrass, is a small clump-forming, evergreen ornamental grass with narrow linear, spiny and rough-haired blue-green leaves. The plant flowers in September and October with first purple-brown, later narrow, light yellow to beige-yellow flower spikes. Sesleria caerulea prefers a position in full sun or light shade and a well-permeable, preferably calcareous sand or pebble soil. This ornamental grass is very hardy and drought tolerant, it tolerates sea wind and air pollution without any problems. Very suitable for group planting or as a ground cover.
