Tradescantia 'Sweet Kate'
Tradescantia andersoniana "sweet kate" is called father plant or day flower in Dutch. It is an evergreen perennial with a bushy, clumping habit. The leaves are grassy, lanceolate and bright yellow. This one-day flower blooms for a long time, namely from May to September. The deep blue to violet-blue flowers are grouped in terminal racemes on stiff stems. The plant likes a position in full sun or partial shade and requires an acid to neutral, fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil.
