Leymus arenarius
Leymus arenarius, syn. Elymus arenarius, in Dutch called sand oats, is a large evergreen grass species with an upright shape. The grass blades are gray-blue and pointed at the top. Sand oats flowers from May to July with wheat-like flower spikes with a blue hue that quickly turn creamy white. Leymus arenarius prefers a position in full sun or partial shade and a well-drained, not too fertile, preferably sandy soil. this ornamental grass is hardy, very drought tolerant, tolerates direct sea wind and tolerates air pollution. Ajuga reptans (ajuga repens), called creeping zenngreen in Dutch, is a semi-evergreen perennial with a low-growing, ground-covering habit. The plant blooms with blue to purple-hued minty flowers from late April to June. The leaves are oval-round, lobed, dark green and often purple. Creeping green pine likes a position in sun, partial shade or even shade and does well in almost any soil type. It is a good ground cover that sometimes dares to proliferate, it is very hardy, attracts bees and butterflies, but is not particularly tolerant to sea wind.

Rosa "petticoat" (syn. "Korgretaum") is a medium-sized floribunda rose introduced by cordes in 2004. This floribunda rose has a bushy upright shape with medium-sized, dark green, dense, glossy leaves. It blooms in summer with medium-sized, very double, nostalgic, creamy white flowers (diam. 7 cm) with an apricot-colored heart and a slightly sweet perfume. Rosa "petticoat" prefers a sunny position and a slightly moist, but very permeable soil. It does well in all soil types. Alcea ficifolia is a sturdy perennial that lives longer than the biennial hollyhocks. This hollyhock has fig-shaped leaves, decoratively lobed. A major advantage of the A. ficifolia species is that it is much less sensitive to rust.
