Ceratostigma willmottianum

Ceratostigma willmottianum (Leadwort), is a low-growing graceful shrub with an open shape, beautiful ruby-red stems and light blue flowers that make the ornamental during the summer months and autumn. The leaves are small and medium green in spring and summer but turn a nice bronze-red color in autumn. Ceratostigma does well in a neutral to calcareous soil type and likes a position in full sun or partial shade. The plant is hardy, but can use some protection with fallen leaves in severe winters. Cercidiphyllum japonicum

Cercidiphyllum japonicum or katsura tree is also called heart tree or Judas leaf tree in Dutch.
