Euphorbia amygd. 'Purpurea'

Euphorbia amygdaloides 'Purpurea', called almond spurge in Dutch, is a bushy semi-evergreen perennial with attractive reddish-purple spatula-shaped leaves and green-yellow, chartreuse-colored flowers in spring. This spurge is very flexible in terms of location, it does well in full sun, but also in partial shade and even in the shade, it prefers limy soil, but also tolerates neutral to slightly acidic soil. Euphorbia amygdaloides is fair to hardy, can tolerate some drought, is sea wind and salt tolerant and tolerates air pollution. Generally little affected by diseases or pests, botrytis can occasionally occur and aphids can attack the plant.
