Campanula portenschlagiana

Campanula portenschlagiana is a semi-evergreen perennial with a low-growing, carpet-forming habit and heart-shaped, medium-green to dark green serrated leaves. This bellflower blooms from June to August with abundant dark purple to violet-blue, star-shaped flowers. This campanula likes a position in full sun or partial shade and prefers a well-permeable normal to dry soil. The plant is hardy, reasonably to good sea wind tolerant, tolerates air pollution, attracts butterflies, bees and insects but in poor conditions can suffer from mildew and rust and be attacked by snails.
