Phytolacca americana
Phytolacca americana has remarkably large leaves with thick flower spikes that first bloom white then pink-red in July/August.
After flowering, the flowering spikes turn into thick cobs with red to black berries, these cobs can reach a length of 30 cm and hang down in trusses.
They remain on the bush until the first frost.
The berries are used as natural colorings for lemonades.
But beware, pit and roots are poisonous.
